Basically, the part was exactly what I needed for the Hoover Steamvac V2. More than likely the part will have to be replaced again because the axle that runs the brushes is just a thin rod of plastic.

They should offer just the brush with the drive shaft as a separate replacement part. I am attempting to fabricate a mod for it using a metal shaft, of course the next piece to go will be the nylon drive collar. At any rate, if you are considering buying one of these units.

I agree with all of the other reviews. This is the second replacement brush I have bought in six months. This time it broke after just a few minutes of use. Last time when it broke the shaft got stuck in the machine and we had to drill it out. I like the cleaning action of the vac, but this is ridiculous. I would not buy another one until this design flaw is fixed.

I agree too, I am careful with the steamvac, yet the brushes have broken twice! and to buy a replacement brush from hoover is $26 plus $8.95 shipping!
The last brush broke on the first use!!!!!
What can I do? It is too expensive to buy a new steamvac so I will get another brush, on ebay they are still about $28 including shipping.

Like the others who left comments, I too find that the little green plastic tab that sticks up on the opposite side of the brush breaks very easily and renders the brushes useless. Mine broke on the first time I used the steam vac. They need to fix this horrible design flaw.
